Small Business Spotlight: Brussel’s Bonsai Nursery
Meet Brussel Martin. He’s the owner of Brussel’s Bonsai Nursery located in Olive Branch that attracts customers from near and far. His love for the beautiful plants began when his father returned home from a business trip to California with several small bonsai trees in tow. Brussel was captivated. The life defining event was the catalyst that led him to open Brussel’s Bonsai Nursery in the 1970s. Over the years, he’s taken maaaany trips to Japan, Taiwan, China and South Korea to identify and bring home the best of the best bonsai stock for you to purchase. If you’ve never visited this local small business, we encourage you to do so. The beauty and uniqueness of each tree is astounding, and they make for great gifts!

The Daily Memphian shined a light on the exciting upgrades coming to two DeSoto County event venues – BankPlus Amphitheater and Landers Center.

According to the Memphis Business Journal, global behemoth Walmart plans to build a 1-million-square-foot fulfillment center in Olive Branch that will bring 250 full-time jobs to the region.

Meet four local authors at the third annual Desoto County Black Artists Literary Festival on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the M. R. Davis Public Library in Southaven.
Through April 14, you can visit the DeSoto County Museum to view The Unknown Child Exhibit that honors the memory of 1.5 million children who perished in the Holocaust.
