Small Business Spotlight: Buon Cibo
After years of working in the restaurant industry, Josh Belenchia and his wife Katie decided to open a spot of their own. In 2011, the couple’s restaurant, Buon Cibo, opened for business. The intention was simple – have a restaurant that served good food, which is what "buon cibo" means in Italian. By offering dishes made with locally sourced products, and artisanal meats and cheeses, they do just that.
"I come from a family of entrepreneurs, so it was a natural drive to want to open my own shop," said Josh. "I was inspired by my father and grandfather. They both ran successful businesses for many years, so I wanted to be a part of that legacy."
The best advice Josh can give to others thinking about opening their own business? "Do what makes you happy, trust your instincts and put out the best product you can."
The menu has something for everyone, including fan favorites like the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich (pictured), Catfish Tacos and Cheddar Beer Soup. For the latest specials and restaurant hours, check out Buon Cibo’s Facebook page.
