It's beginning to look a lot like spring in DeSoto County, Mississippi, and you know what that means. It’s festival time! Festivals are a great way to experience what our area here at the top of the Magnolia State has to offer.

DeSoto Wings Competition and Festival: Wings and spring weather – what could be better? This Olive Branch event set for April 9 is hosted by Generosity Network Inc. and benefits DeSoto County Dream Center. Get ready for a wing cooking competition, live music, bounce houses, Easter-related activities, food trucks and more.

42nd Annual Southaven Springfest: At Snowden Grove Park in Southaven, you can check out carnival rides and games, enjoy yummy concessions, enter the beauty pageant or participate in the State of Mississippi Barbecue Championship, which is sanctioned by the Memphis Barbecue Network April 19-23. Admission is free for children ages 10 and under. It is $10 for those 11 years old and up.

5th Annual Brewfest: Mississippi Ale House is hosting its 5th Annual Brewfest on April 23 in Olive Branch. Your $35 ticket includes a pretzel necklace, craft beer samples from participating breweries and a souvenir glass. With a VIP ticket priced at $50, attendees get to visit the VIP section that offers an exclusive selection of beers, a larger pretzel necklace and full-sized pint souvenir glass. Attendees can enjoy live music from Twin Soul and special menu offerings from OB Pizza Co and Sidestreet Burgers, as well.

18th Annual Mudbug Bash: This crawfish extravaganza will take place in Hernando on April 23. Get ready to chow down on some mudbugs in support of Palmer Home!

OB Fest: Held at Olive Branch City Park on April 30, OB Fest will include the Bob Marr Car Show, food trucks, pet adoptions in partnership with Hollywood Feed, bounce houses for the kids and a vendor market.

A'Fair in Hernando: This downtown Hernando event is set for May 21 and features dozens of vendors selling their creations. Think pottery, jewelry, crafts, photography and paintings.
