Small Business Spotlight: Tea & Tisanes

The South may be known for sweet tea, but Tea & Tisanes in DeSoto County, Mississippi, is known for so much more. 

What is a “tisane,” you ask? It’s a non-caffeinated herbal beverage. Unlike tea, tisanes are made by steeping several plant parts – think herbs, flowers, roots and fruits – from a variety of plants in hot water, rather than steeping just the tea plant’s leaves. 

Right off of Highway 51 in Hernando, Tea & Tisanes goes beyond the traditional tea party, serving up a range of tea time experiences, tasty food items, bulk herbs and natural medicinal products. And the fun doesn’t stop there! This unique cafe also hosts a variety of events, from gardening and craft workshops to art shows and book club meetups.
