Small Business Spotlight: City Hall Cheesecake

DeSoto County, Mississippi, is home to two City Hall Cheesecake locations – one in Hernando and another in Southaven. The local favorite is known for its indulgent, house-made desserts, of course, but it serves up so much more than that. 

Kim and Vance Daly purchased the bakery in 2018 without cheesecake-making experience. Why in the world…?! There’s a good reason. The couple bought the business to support their true passion, Love Works 25:40, a ministry helping the unhoused secure jobs and shelter. 

Both City Hall Cheesecake locations employ Love Works 25:40 program participants. These team members are hard working, determined and grateful for the opportunity to get back on their feet. And, Kim and Vance are equally as grateful their 2018 purchase is making a difference in the lives of many. To further their impact, the couple recently partnered with another nonprofit, Precious in Pink Jail Ministries. It’s a faith-based organization helping integrate previously incarcerated women back into society. Like with Love Works 25:40, several program participants are now employed by City Hall Cheesecake. 

Talk about a seriously sweet endeavor! The next time you’re near the Hernando or Southaven bake shops, grab a slice or an entire cheesecake (we won’t judge!).
