The first-ever DeSoto County Dining Week held in January was a hit. It drew food lovers from across the region to experience our locally owned restaurants, coffee houses and dessert shops. Nearly 40 establishments participated, offering specials for the week. Save the date for the second Dining Week coming April 7-13, 2025!

Live music and entertainment
This year was full of amazing live entertainment. Landers Center saw a variety of events. Think the Mid-South Fair, Disney On Ice, PAW Patrol Live!, comedy shows and music, including the explosive Sharp Dressed Simple Man Tour featuring ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Mark your calendars for these upcoming events: Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus (Jan. 10-12), Rodeo of the Mid-South (Jan. 18), Harlem Globetrotters (Jan. 26), We Them Ones Comedy Tour hosted by Mike Epps (Feb. 28), Blippi (March 2) and Monster Jam (May 2-4).
While Landers Center remains a premier venue, it’s currently undergoing an exciting expansion. The project will include a large convention space, full-service hotel with a restaurant, resort-style pool and lazy river. The massive upgrades will allow DeSoto County the ability to welcome meetings and conventions and offer guests an elevated experience.
BankPlus Amphitheater saw many national touring musical acts in 2024, as well, including sold-out shows from Hozier and Laney Wilson. The outdoor venue’s next season of shows includes Dwight Yoakam with The Mavericks (May 30), Thomas Rhett (June 6), Teddy Swims (Aug. 16) and Three Dog Night & Little River Band (Sept. 18) just to name a few.
Looking for a unique musical experience? The former home of rock and country icon Jerry Lee Lewis has reopened as The Lewis Ranch Experience. It welcomes tours and private events.
Silo Square
DeSoto County continues to grow and Southaven’s Silo Square is at the heart of it all. The mixed-use development blends dining, shopping and entertainment, creating a vibrant community hub. Several new businesses joined the scene this year, including Oasis Grooming, Pro Health Wellness Clinic, clothing retailers Norton’s and Wild Oats Children’s Boutique and the Fairfield by Marriott hotel. The dining scene continues to thrive, with Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, Kyuramen, Lucky Dog Music Hall & Bar, Rotolo’s Craft & Crust and Sippin Silo Wine Bar adding to the growing list of Silo’s restaurants.
There’s no better time to plan your visit to the top of the Magnolia State. We look forward to seeing you again in 2025!
