So, whether you're looking for the perfect gift or want to see dazzling light displays, DeSoto County, located just minutes from Memphis, is the place to be.
Pick out a Christmas tree.
Did you know DeSoto County has two locally owned Christmas tree farms? Explore fields full of beautiful fir trees with the family at Merry Christmas Tree Farm in Nesbit or Cedar Hill Farm in Hernando. You can purchase a pre-cut tree or cut one down on your own.
Shop till you drop.
DeSoto County is THE holiday shopping destination, that’s for sure! Our area is home to numerous boutiques that are packed with fantastic finds. From festive candles and ultra-soft blankets to Christmas-themed pillows and trinkets to help you deck the halls – you'll find everything you need to turn your abode into a cozy holiday haven. Plus, Southaven is home to not one, but TWO outdoor shopping experiences – Silo Square and Tanger Outlets – where you are sure to find unique presents for all of your loved ones. Light up the night with light shows.
Experience the magic of Light Garden at Olive Branch City Park Nov. 22-Jan. 1. This enchanting, walk-through attraction offers beautiful light displays, local flavors, live performances and artisan vendors. It's the ideal place to get into the holiday spirit!
If your family lives closer to Southaven, check out Central Park Southern Lights in December. Tune in to one of the five FM radio stations broadcasting music synchronized with the dazzling light displays you'll see during your drive. More details are coming soon.
You can also head to Cedar Hill Farm in Hernando for its walk-thru Christmas Traditions Light Show. This special event is a synchronized light display set to classic holiday tunes. Horn Lake’s Annual Christmas Parade – Dec. 9 at 3:30 p.m. at Horn Lake Middle School This event is canceled due to inclement weather. Instead, attend the Horn Lake Christmas Tree Lighting at Latimer Lakes Park on Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m.
