02 Aug / 2024

Blues music lovers will flock to DeSoto County, Mississippi, on Aug. 17, for the 21st Annual Tri-State Blues Festival at Landers Center!

Check out the artists taking the stage this year:

  • It’s no secret blues runs deep in Mississippi. Originally from Jackson, J-Wonn finds inspiration for his music by incorporating his church choir roots with his love of hip-hop and R&B. O.B. Buchana calls Clarksdale home. He has been a mainstay on the Southern soul circuit for years, charming audiences with his emotive songs and deep vocals.

  • Bayou-soul stands out with Louisiana artists Pokey Bear and Tucka. Pokey Bear’s larger-than-life performances bring the heat every time he’s on stage with his fresh take on old-school blues. Often called the “King of Swing,” Tucka is known for his smooth blend of R&B and soul. His pillow talk-style songs are reminiscent of Barry White and other artists from the 1970s and 1980s.

King George.jpgBased out of South Carolina, King George uniquely mixes traditional blues with modern influences. Exposed to legendary artists like B.B. King and Muddy Waters at an early age, he developed his own sound and exceptional guitar skills that set him apart from other contemporary blues artists.

West Love (1).jpgKelsie Davis, better known by her stage name West Love, is a Georgia native filling the void of female Southern soul artists with her dynamic voice and stage presence.
