Even though the park is called the DeSoto County Veterans Park, this park honors ALL VETERANS from the Revolutionary War to the present War on Terror, regardless of where they were born, lived, or are now living. This park is unique in that it is not just a Memorial Park to honor those who are deceased, but a Veterans Park to also show our appreciation to the living for their service.
Fourteen bronze plaques, one for each war or conflict and flags representing each branch of the military, a Walk of Honor, the POW/MIA chair and a monument to honor the animal Veterans who served.
You can purchase bricks for the Walk of Honor. The bricks are not only for deceased veterans, but also for the living and those presently serving. Visit website for details.
