Arkabutla Lake is renowned for some of the best fishing in the southeast.
Boasting an abundance of largemouth and white bass, and channel and flathead catfish, Arkabutla is also rated one of the "Top 5 Crappie Fishing Lakes in America."
But with Arkabutla, fishing is just the beginning.
This 33,000 acre lake provides an 11,000 acre "recreation pool" that offer some of the best sailing east of the Mississippi River, along with three pristine beaches ideal for swimming.
Arkabutla Lake’s remote location is an ideal setting for a land-based recreation, too.
In addition to nearly 250 beautiful campsites, there are trails for hiking and biking, picnic areas, playgrounds, and an 18-hole "disc golf" course.
For hunters, there are more than 30,000 acres of public hunting lands – rich with dove, squirrel, bobwhite quail, rabbit, deer and turkey – open throughout the year.
Many of the amenities in and around Arkabutla Lake are ADA accessible.
