DeSoto County Environmental Services is offering a safe way to dispose of items classified as hazardous household waste, Saturday, October 13 from 8am–12pm at the LANDERS Center, Southwest corner parking lot.
Hazardous waste is any unused or left over portions of products containing toxic chemicals. Any product labeled Caution, Poisonous, Toxic, Flammable or Corrosive. Some examples are paints, LED bulbs, flea/tick powders, pool chemicals, anti-freeze, motor oil, car batteries, aerosol cans, pesticides and more.
Do NOT bring explosive or radioactive materials, medical waste, etc.
Also being accepted are old tires. A max of 5 tires may be recycled per citizen.
The E-Cycle Trailer will be on-site for those disposing of old electronics such as computers, printers, TV’s, cell phones, microwaves, etc.
